Publicizing your blog posts on Linkedin poses a simple task. Once you have an account–a much more detail-oriented task–you simple go to your profile page and under the “edit my profile” tab click on “post an update.” (This is a small option under the box with your name; it’s off to the far right.) Before you hit the “share” button, you also can opt to check the Twitter settings button and have your update go to Twitter at the same time, thus killing the proverbial two birds with one stone—or two social networks with one click.
On Linkedin you have the option of sharing links. So, by all means, add the links to your recent blog posts.
This is a great way to let people know you are blogging a book. If you are writing a book that has great information for professionals, Linked in is THE place to share.
Greg Marcus says
LinkedIn has been a fantastic resource for both my blog and my blogged book. ~75% of my traffic comes from LinkedIn. This probably is because my target audience is people who are chronically overworked, or are conflicted about their work/life balance.
Also, I highly recommend LinkedIn groups. They are self-selected for people with common interests. I am in about 12 groups. A third professional networking, a third alumni groups from college and work, and and a third about writing/blogging.

Yes, Greg, LinkedIn is an often-overlooked network, especially for those bloggers writing about business-related topics. However, there are groups there on almost everything. The more you interact in the groups, the more traffic you will see to your blogs. It’s also a great way to monetize your blogs. People from LI are more likely to purchase the services and products you offer on your blog site.
